Over 300,000 Android devices hacked through Chrome

Over 300,000 Android devices have been infected through Chrome browsers worldwide since August of this year. How are hackers getting into phones and how can you prevent this? Read on for all the details.

Typical attacks with new tools

Many of you probably encountered the type of attacks that have infected Android devices over the past few months. The attacks happen when browsing and can appear on any site. A pop-up advertisement appears and warns you that there is a virus on your phone. But there is no virus, this is a scam, and according to SecureList, 318,000 people have fallen for it since August.
Some Android owners have been clicking on the 'Remove virus now' button in an attempt to get rid of the problem. The attacker then tries to get them to change the phone's settings to allow APKs to be downloaded. Once downloaded, a malware program steals information.

8 free apps you should install immediately

1. Fleksy is a keyboard that breaks speed records

Fleksy keyboard is free (although only during a limited time). It's minimalist, colorful and efficient. Gesture controls make keys like 'Space' or 'Enter' obsolete. Plus, the huge amount of free plugins that you can add improves the experience even more. Test the editor and you'll see what just might be the best Android cursor out there. But even without adding anything extra, Fleksy continues to break keyboard records on Android.

2. Inbox helps to keep yours impeccable

Inbox will revolutionize your inbox. The first time you use it, you'll see how easy it is to organize messages from the last ten years of your life in a matter of minutes. This app groups messages, creates reminders, prioritizes important emails and helps you clear out unwanted messages, among many other things. All of this has turned Inbox into one of Android's most used apps, despite being fairly new. Finally put an end to that organized chaos that you call your inbox.

3. A QR scanner to see the world a little differently

We constantly see them on posters, business cards and supermarkets. Many times, these codes can hold some very valuable information. To make sure you can always scan them without any problems, you need to have a scanner installed on your phone. These apps take up very little space on your phone but usually end up being quite useful. If there is an abundance of anything in the Play Store, its scanners like this one.

Android Nougat review: New features only for new phones

In reviewing Android Nougat, it became distinctly clear that many of the features are reserved for users of new devices. Initially, it should be considered as a limited update but to be honest, it is by no means the update we've been waiting for. The good features are only available on new smartphones and the best ones only on the Pixel.

Let's face facts: if you don't have the word Nexus or the letter G emblazoned on the back of your smartphone, you probably still don't have the Nougat update. The distribution of the update has been delayed, as usual, while Samsung, Sony and other manufacturers take their time to adjust the OS to their devices. Perhaps for you, your mobile phone provider will bless a small percentage of its users with the update then, over the course of a few months, distribute it more and more until finally, the last of you have all received the update. By then, Android 8 will probably already be available. But in all honesty…

Xiaomi Mi Mix: an innovation for the future?

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 presentation was overshadowed another player we have all been waiting for: the Xiaomi Mi Mix. The Xiaomi Mi Mix is presented as an amalgamation of ideas through which the Chinese manufacturer hopes to revolutionize the smartphone industry. An "all in" bet for the rest of the market to match.

A new challenge from Xiaomi to the rest of the smartphone market

It's no secret that Xiaomi was born from inspiration taken from other brands. We've always been able to see Apple's influence on the design of their models. It wasn't only exclusive to Cupertino either, there are some hints of Samsung in the Mi5 and Note 2.
Even now, the system they run on their devices, MIUL, has stepped away from its iOS roots to use some quick access ideas that feel a lot like Touchwiz. Little by little, the Chinese manufacturer, born to conquer the world, has been gathering ideas from others and molding it to their own style.
Nowadays, Xiaomi e

Samsung Galaxy S8 price, release date, specs and rumors

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are currently taking the smartphone world by storm. That said, shape is beginning to form around next year's Galaxy S8 and it could be released early to offset the Note 7 fallout. The latest speculation is that the S8 could be larger than its predecessor. Here is everything else we know so far about the Galaxy S8 price, release date, specs and features.

We'll let you know as soon as we have more information on a launch date for the Samsung Galaxy S8.
September 14: Speculation has emerged that the Galaxy S8 release could be fast-tracked as a way for Samsung to offset the fallout from the Note 7. With the new Note's exploding battery issue leading to a recall that has cost the company millions of dollars, along with the damage the company has taken to its brand image, analysts from KB Investment & Securities speculate that Samsung could release the S8 early to try and repair some of the damage that has been caused, along with injecting a revenue boost that might offset the losses and appease investors.
While this sounds like a good theory, each year Samsung presents its latest Galaxy S line at Mobile World Congress. The Galaxy S devices are essentially the most important devices launched at a large and widely publicized tech conference. It would be an unusual move for Samsung to forego using MWC as a launchpad, but is still entirely possible.

Along the left edge we can find the space for two nano SIMs or a SIM and a microSD, whereas on the lower edge there is the space for the two speaker grids (only the one on the right is for sound reproduction), the Type-C USB port and the microphone. Along the upper edge the headphone jack space and the microphone for calls can be found. To the front there is the brand’s logo at the bottom, the front camera, LEDs and the proximity sensor at the top.
